Haley attended the Spike TV 2009 Scream Awards, and took a moment to discuss his role as Krueger and the buzz surrounding the film. The Scream Awards -- honoring the horror, fantasy and sci-fi genres -- airs Oct. 27.
Ive been pretty thrilled with all of the responses, it looks really cool," Haley said in an interview with Bloody-Disgusting, Saturday. "A lot of people wish it was Robert [in the remake] and I get that. Hes made this character iconic and hes iconic as well, its a tough thing and hopefully when the movie comes out people will dig it.
One aspect of the film's trailer that is still undergoing work is Krueger's voice. What you hear in the trailer will be different than the film. Haley is committed to getting it right.
Weve actually been working on that for the last three days, doing some ADR work and will probably continue," he said. "Its a normal process of post-production.
Like the original 1984 Wes Craven film, Krueger stalks a group of suburban teenagers afters their parent's vigilante justice transforms him into an unstoppable entity. As a dream-stalking killer, Krueger leaves no chance to escape for his prey.
And like most "A Nightmare on Elm Street" films, a sequel is a sure bet. Will Haley slip on the glove and sweater again?
