Clive Barker Looks To Open 'Hotel'
Series teams popular author with horror creative duo Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton
Clive Barker is teaming with "Saw" writers Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton to launch the new horror series "Hotel" at Warner Bros. Television.
Several networks are already eying the project, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Details of the plot are unavailable, but it is expected to document a hotel's haunting.
Dunstan recently directed "The Collector," based on a script he co-wrote with Melton. The duo broke into the genre after winning "Project Greenlight" with their horror script "Feast." It became a Dimension movie, and they have since served as writers for Lionsgate's "Saw" films. Writing the previous two movies in the franchise, the pair also penned the screenplay to this fall's "Saw VI." They are attached to write as many as two of the movies beyond that.
Barker, the creator of the landmark horror franchise "Hellraiser" and the recent best-selling "Abarat" books, is attached to produce. McG's Wonderland Sound and Vision is also in talks to produce. Barker associate Joe Daley will co-produce.
For Dunstan and Melton, the project marks another collaboration with Barker. They previously worked on a draft of Dimension's "Hellraiser" reboot, which is in development.
