Roth Ready To Serve 'Thanksgiving'
Faux 'Grindhouse' horror trailer finds life as full-length feature
Eli Roth is pushing forward with the slasher film "Thanksgiving," based on his amusing faux horror trailer from "Grindhouse."
"My co-writer Jeff [Rendell] just landed yesterday in Los Angeles; he flew out for the ["Inglourious Basterds"] premiere and so we can finish the script," said Roth, who directed the "Hostel" films and "Cabin Fever."
"I don't want to do it as my next film but I want to get the script finished," he said. "The sci-fi film, 'Endangered Species,' is what I'm doing next."
Roth will not add "Hostel 3" to his plate, however. He is distancing himself from that franchise.
"No, I'm done," he said. "Somebody will, that was part of the deal -- that they were allowed to continue doing them without me. And that's what the fans want, clearly there's a demand for it. But I have left it to go on to other things."
Audiences can next catch Roth as Sgt. Donny Donowitz in Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds," which opens in theaters Aug. 21.
