The CW has released footage of "The Vampire Diaries" cast and crew at Comic-Con International last month as they discuss insights into the show.

Kevin Williamson ("Scream," "The Faculty") is writing and executive producing the series, which is based on the books by L.J. Smith about teen vampires.

This is not going to be 'Scream' or 'Dawsons Creeks' heightened pyschobabble, said Williamson in an interview with TheTorchOnline.com. Its going to be its own show. Its based on a book, and were trying to be true to the book.

"The Vampire Diaries" debuts Sept. 10 at 8 p.m. ET.
