The CW released three clips from "The Vampire Diaries," a new series which joins "Supernatural" on Thursday nights this fall.

Capitalizing on the growing interest in the romantic vampire genre, the series was created by Kevin Williamson ("Scream," "The Faculty") based on the books by author L.J. Smith.

The story follows a woman who falls in love with two vampire brothers, one good, the other evil.

"The Vampire Diaries" stars Ian Somerhalder ("Lost," "Pulse"), Zach Roerig ("Friday Night Lights"), Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley ("Everwood") and Kayla Ewell ("Entourage").
