'Dead of Night' Recruits Werewolves
Film adapts Italian horror comic 'Dylan Dog'
Peter Stormare and wrestler and Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle are joining the cast of "Dead of Night," an adaption of the Italian horror comic series "Dylan Dog."
Stormare and Angle will play the werewolves Wolfgang and Gabriel, respectively. They join a cast featuring Brandon Routh, Sam Huntington, Taye Diggs and Anita Briem.
Directed by Kevin Munroe ("TMNT"), "Dead of Night" is currently shooting in New Orleans. It chronicles the investigations of a supernatural private detective, Dylan Dog. He hunts monsters in the Louisiana bayou, wearing his signature red shirt, black jacket and blue jeans.
"Dylan Dog" was launched in 1986 by Tiziano Sclavi for the Italian publishing house Sergio Bonelli Editore. Dark Horse Comics first published an American version of the comics in 1999. In 1994 elements of "Dylan Dog" were incorporated in director's Michele Soavi film "Dellamorte Dellamore," which was also known as "Cemetery Man" and "Of Death and Love."
"Dead of Night" is penned by "Sahara" screenwriters Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer. It's scheduled for a 2009 release, but currently no premiere date is set.
