"28 Days Later" will find new life in comics as Fox Atomic Comics and BOOM! Studios prepare for a July debut.

The collaboration will produce a serialized story as individual single issue comic books before being collected into trade paperback graphic novels. Fox Atomic Comics and BOOM! Studios recently announced the venture at the Emerald City Comicon in Seattle, Wash.

Firmly based in "28 Days Later" continuity, the story's first arc focuses on Selena, detailing the gap between "28 Days Later" and "28 Weeks Later." It will answer such questions as what happened to Selena after the first film, and how she acquired her machete.
