'New Moon' Finds Its Wolf Pack
Plus new name to boot.
Five actors, all of Native American descent, have been chosen to become the La Push pack that transform into wolves when needed to defend the tribe. Chaske Spencer, Bronson Pelletier, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Tyson Houseman have all signed up the movie and are expected to also return for the threequel. There is no word yet on which of the actors will be taking on the main members of the pack Quil Ateara, Embry Call and Sam Uley. Taylor Lautner will return as Jacob Black.
The movie has also been re-branded as "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," likely as a way to entice lesser-educated fans of the franchise and also as a hook to those who have only recently discovered the movie as it hit DVD shelves this week, rocketing into the top five DVD release of the last two years. Revolving around the somewhat sibling-like relationship of Jacob and Bella, "New Moon" will see the Cullen family depart the small town of Forks, Washington following a close call with their "vegetarian" life style. As Bella struggles to accept the changes that are taking place in her life in Edward's absence, Jacob also struggles to control his own lycan transformation as a protector to the La Push tribe.
"New Moon" is currently filming in Canada, and is due for release in November.
