His return to the big screen comes with a lot of high expectations, however backed by a script by his fellow "Angel" comrade Drew Goddard, Whedon looks set to send a firm jolt back into the horror genre. And casting is almost complete. According to Empire, Kristen Connolly, Chris Hemsworth, Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz and Jesse Williams have all signed to star in "Cabin In The Woods," a movie which no one really knows much about. The group will also be joining the previously announced Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford, both of whom are noticeably older than the latest additions. "Each of the 'kids' is unique, fascinating and talented, and like true friends, the group is more than the sum of its parts,” he said regarding the casting. “These are people you care about, able to go toe to toe with the amazing actors we've corralled thus far, and not unpretty in the bargain. I can't wait to harm them.” The plot still remains a closely guarded secret, similar to that of "Cloverfield" †also penned by Goddard †which brought a new perspective to the monster-mash. "Cabin In The Woods" is set to launch Feb. 5, 2010. Digg It! Express yourself and be part of the news! Leave a comment below or join our rabid discussions on the AlphaBoards.
