Raimi To Preview Unfinished ‘Drag Me To Hell’

Gone are the days when movies had to be complete before they were shown to the public. Now, you can show off your latest project as a work in progress movie and take in all of the feedback its audience provides. And that is exactly what director Sam Raimi is doing.

Gone are the days when movies had to be complete before they were shown to the public. Now, you can show off your latest project as a work in progress movie and take in all of the feedback its audience provides. And that is exactly what director Sam Raimi is doing. "Drag Me To Hell," Raimi's long awaited return to the horror genre, is set to preview at the South By Southwest film festival and he will personally introduce a midnight screening of the film. Raimi, who is perhaps most well known as the director behind the Spider-man trilogy ("Spider-man 3" was something of an unexpected horror) and is also responsible for the Evil Dead films. According to ShockTillYouDrop, Raimi is working on two editions of the movie: one will be launched completely uncut as a solid R and the other will launch as a PG-13 to pull in a younger audience looking to be terrified. The movie -- which features a young girl trying to break an evil curse -- has hit a few bumps since it was originally announced last year with leading lady Ellen Page (known for “Juno” and “X-Men 3”) dropping out due to a conflicting schedule. It now stars Alison Lohman and Justin Long. Over the last eight years, Raimi †who made his name by directing horror movies - has stuck to producing horror projects instead and has accrued an impressive list of films to his name, including “The Grudge” and “30 Days Of Night.” “Drag Me To Hell” marks his directorial return to the genre since he directed “The Gift” in 2000. He is also confirmed as producing “The Grudge 3” and a remake of “The Evil Dead,” both of which are expected to hit theatre next summer. Digg It! Express yourself and be part of the news!
