Selene Back For Futuristic ‘Underworld 4?’

Despite all early indications that it would reach the number one spot, "Underworld: Rise Of The Lycans" finished in second place at the weekend box office ... but it is not the end of the Underworld franchise. Shock Til You Drop is reporting that a fourth installment in the franchise is currently being planned only this will not serve as a follow-up to "Lycans," instead this will take another jump into the future. "We'll see what happens with this one," Producer Len Wiseman told the site. "They're now a bit more open. There was always a hope that there were three films we could tell - so we've completed that trilogy we've talked about. There are many places we can go. If people are willing to go back, they're willing to go forward." One of the main complaints about "Underworld: Rise Of The Lycans" has been the distinct lack of Kate Beckinsdale's character Selene even with the 30-second tie-up at the end of the movie. And if the fourth movie moves ahead we could be seeing her return in a very different setting ... say for example, the future. "I'm kind of flirting with ideas of what would take place in the future. I'm just glad people are accepting that we can jump around in the time line and people are interested. Hopefully they'll be willing to accept different stories because the characters are there and they're immortal. It would be fun to go forward again." Digg It!
