While the gruesome details of the film are still being kept under wraps, the premise of the “Final Destination†series is this: once you cheat death, it comes after you with a vengeance. And your death won’t be pretty. In fact, Ellis directed “Final Destination 2†and received praise for the very elaborate ways in which the characters died after an initial freeway accident involving a truck full of timbre.
This installment in the series however will stand apart from the rest and new teenagers will be hazed into this terrifying world, only to be killed off as horribly as their predecessors. And fans can watch it happen in 3-D.
A start date for the project has yet to be announced. Ellis has also directed “Cellular†and “Snakes on a Plane,†both New Line films. He also worked as second unit director for “Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World†and “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.â€Â
