The Hayden Christensen and Jessica Alba flick wasn’t exactly the thriller it was original intended, but that isn’t stopping Dreamworks from seeking writer Job Harold for a new project: an adaptation of the comic book “Atlantis Rising.” Producer by “Transformers” duo Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci , the story features the emergence of a hidden undersea civilization that believes itself to be at war with the ground dwellers of the Earth. Len Wiseman (known for “Underworld” and “Die Hard 4”) has signed up to direct the movie "As a writer, Joby has an amazingly strong understanding of how to take genre seriously, which is prerequisite No. 1 for us when it comes to these kinds of movies," producer Alex Kurtzman told Variety. Apparently Dreamworks are eyeballing the movie as a large scale and icon-defining picture in the same league as “Aliens” and “The Abyss.” The movie is scheduled for a 2011 release.
