“True Blood,†which began broadcast on Sept 7, has drawn a substantial audience with more than 4 million viewers tuning in to see the adventures of Sookie (Anna Paquin). The second episode of the series, entitled “First Taste†showed a 24 percent audience increase,
The series is based on the vampire novels by Charlaine Harris in which vampires “come out of the coffin†following a revolutionary Japanese drink called True Blood †a drink that can sustain a vampire instead of blood. Now the vampire nation are working to become an integral part of society and the telepathic Sookie finds herself drawn into the middle of it.
“True Blood†airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on HBO and is also available via HBO On Demand.
