McG’s continuation of the Terminator franchise has been put on hold to allow actress Helena Bonham Carter time to grieve after a tragic accident in Africa claimed the lives of several family members.
According to the Sunday Express, Carter's relatives were on a safari adventure holiday in South Africa where their minibus went out of control following a tyre blow-out. Her cousin Fiona Bonham Carter, 51, escaped with a broken shoulder. However Fiona's son Marcus Egerton-Warburton, 14, her mother Brenda, 74, and stepfather Francis Kirkwood, 75 and sister-in-law Kay Boardman, 54, all died.
"Everyone here was in a state of shock when the news came through,†a source told the British news paper. “I saw an assistant of Helena's who told me she is absolutely stricken with grief. She can't believe what happened."
The actress has flown back to the United Kingdom to be with her family.
There are currently no details on when filming will resume.
