Queue the chilling harmonies of “Mr. Sandman,” a man in a mask slashing people and throw them together on Oct. 31 and what you have is a horror classic. In 2007, Rob Zombie re-invented the Halloween franchise and since then there have been rumors that a sequel to the project may not be entirely out of the question. Well, according to Shock Til You Drop, the Weinstein Company are moving forward with the idea. "It's a proposition we couldn't refuse." Inside’s Julien Maury said, according to the site. "Therefore, our vision will be done with upmost respect, with a continuity of [Zombie's] work but also a real evolution of the world he set in place." The bad news is that Zombie is unlikely to be involved with this adaptation, but Maury insists he will remain respectful of Zombie's re-imagining of Michael Myers and the end goal is to leave their mark on the horror icon and not re-invent him again. In the legendary tale, Michael Myers escapes the institution from where he has resided since childhood and goes on his bloody rampage, causing mayhem and chaos to his old neighborhood. Zombie’s adaptation managed to pull in an impressive $78 million worldwide. Digg It! Express yourself and be part of the news! Leave a comment below or join our rabid discussions on the SyBoards.
