"Hellboy II" and "The Hobbit" just isn't enough, so Guillermo del Toro has signed on to produce a remake of a 1973 cult classic.
"Hellboy II" and "The Hobbit" just isn't enough, so Guillermo del Toro has signed on to produce a remake of a 1973 cult classic.
Empire Magazine is reporting that Del Toro is onboard for "Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark" which features a young girl who discovers her father and his girl friend is actually a creature that goes bump in the night.
This isn't the first scary story Del Toro has told that revolves around a broken family. Both "Pans Labyrinth" and "The Orphanage" both feature children placed in difficult situations with a supernatural twist ... and in those cases it doesn't end well. This new outing may also give the producer a chance to put his pen to paper and once again design some of the most elaborate creatures ever captured on film.
"Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark" is funded by Miramax and no release details have been announced.
