‘Terminator Salvation’ Will Look Surreal
It won't have an R rating, but McG is certainly trying to give the new Terminator trilogy a gritty and surreal look.

"We're shooting the film on color stock but are using a method inspired by the 'Oz' process which was developed at Technicolor by Mike Zacharia and Bob Olson," McG said on the official blog. "Basically we are adding three times as much silver. It creates a surreal texture that is in keeping with the notion of the entire picture - feeling detached from the world we know today."
Besides the look and feel the project, McG also confirmed that through meetings with Christian Bale - who is taking on the role of John Connor - they duo have committed to telling a compelling and addictive story instead of an action flick.
According to the director, "Terminator Salvation" is a "Prometheus tale really, how creating life creates real responsibility - and if left unchecked, can be our undoing."
Filming has already commenced in New Mexico and barring an actors strike “Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins†is scheduled for release May 22, 2009.
