Stephen King To Hit Big Screen With ‘Throttle’

For the first time, disturbing collaborative images from the mind of Stephen King and his son, Joe Hill, will grace the big screen, at least if producer Nick Wechsler has anything to do with it.

For the first time, disturbing collaborative images from the mind of Stephen King and his son, Joe Hill, will grace the big screen, at least if producer Nick Wechsler has anything to do with it. Wechsler used his own money to option the screen rights to "Throttle," a novella by the father-son team that will be published in 2009. In the story, a father and son duo in a motorcycle gang is chased through a desert by an 18-wheel tanker truck. "It has elements of iconic films like 'Duel' and 'Breakdown,' but with a horror element that I want to push," said Wechsler. "Throttle" is the first collaborative effort between King and Hill.
