In the film, global warming has caused the polar ice caps to melt, releasing a wooly mammoth corpse from its icy tomb. Hungry polar bears gobble it up, but there's just one problem: the mammoth was infected with a parasite. Now, a research team led by Evelyn Kruipen (MacIssac) and her father, Dr. Kruipen (Kilmer) must find a way to stop the parasite from spreading and infecting the world.
According to co-producer Mary Anne Waterhouse, "It's more horror than sci-fi. It's much more of a traditional scary movie. We wanted to make an entertainment film, but we also want to make socially relevant films."
Filming is expected to begin June 16th in Vancouver, British Columbia. MacIsaac recently finished filming her role in the Rogue Pictures remake of "The Last House on the Left."
