Director Surprised By Gore In ‘Fear Itself’

NBC is working hard on establishing a horror fanbase through the "Fear Itself" collection of movies and one thing they aren't skimping on is the gore factor. The most recent adventure, "Eater," focused on a rookie cop that gets more than she bargained for when a man eater brought into the station … and promptly escapes. And according to ShockTilYouDrop, Director Stuart Gordon was constantly expecting cuts to be made for the episode to be shown on television. "I thought, 'I can't believe we're going to do this on TV.' Because it's pretty explicit," he said. "It's funny because it was going to NBC and I thought we would have to cut out all of the gore and mayhem. I showed the rough cut to my wife and she said, 'They're never going to show this on television.' And they will." In upcoming episodes, Brandon Routh (“Superman Returns”) and Shiri Appleby (“Charlie Wilson’s War” and “Roswell”) star as a young couple that moves to a subdivision, which appears to be a little too perfect. Eric Roberts (“Heroes”) and Cynthia Watros (“Lost”) star in another about a private eye staking out a haunted house. For a preview on the rest of the series, please click here. Digg It!
