Joss Whedon is currently preparing to return to television in spectacular fashion with “Dollhouse,” a savvy new series involving government agents who are brainwashed following their missions. Until now, the buzz on the series has focused mainly on series star Eliza Dushku who will also be executive producing the show, but now The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed a few more stars who have signed up for the genre-hopping show. “Battlestar Galactica’s” Tahmoh Penikett headlines the latest line up, which also includes Fran Kranz, Dichen Lachman and Enver Gjokaj. In “Dollhouse,” Dushku plays Echo, an agent who is programmed with the skills and knowledge she requires to complete her objectives. Once she returns to the Dollhouse though, her memory is wiped and she is reset for another mission. Throughout the course of series, Echo will slowly come to grips with what is happening to her. Penikett will be taking on the role of FBI Agent Paul Smith who is obsessed with the urban legend of the Dollhouse and will also be a romantic interest for Echo. Lachman and Gjokaj will be other “dolls” like Echo named Sierra and Victor. Both will be friends and comrades to Echo in their exploits. Kranz however may have a slightly darker role as a member of the Dollhouse who is tasked with imprinting the trio with their skills and personalities. The series has been given a seven episode order by Fox with the option for more should the show do well.
