'Grimm' Adds 'Vampire Diaries' Actress
Alice Evans joins NBC's fantasy series, which returns Aug. 13
"The Vampire Diaries" actress Alice Evans will appear in Season 2 of NBC’s "Grimm," which premieres Aug. 13.
Making her debut in Episode 6, Evans will play Mia, a powerful Royal who visits Capt. Renard (Sasha Roiz). Their relationship spans many years, but Renard soon suspects that hidden motives spured her visit.
Evans recently played the mother of villain Klaus (Joseph Morgan) on The CW’s "The Vampire Diaries."
"Grimm," which is inspired by Grimm’s Fairy Tales, fuses elements of fantasy to a crime drama format and chronicles a dark but fantastical world in which fairy tale characters exist.
It follows detective Nick Burckhardt (David Giuntoli) as he embraces his family's legacy of protecting mankind from the supernatural creatures of the world. He is aided by a reformed Blutbad, Eddie Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell), who has mastered his race's dark impulses.
The series is executive produced by David Greenwalt ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Angel") and Jim Kouf, who also serve as writers.
In addition, Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner ("Will & Grace") hold executive producing duties on the series, which is spearheaded by Universal Television and Hazy Mills Productions. David Simkins (Angel, "Warehouse 13") is a co-producer.
Season 2 will feature 22-episodes.
Grimm’s Fairy Tales is a collection of German origin fairy tales published by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm in 1812.
