'The Vampire Diaries,' 'Supernatural' Set To Return
The CW renews its two genre shows for the 2012-2013 season
"The Vampire Diaries" and "Supernatural" are returning to The CW for the 2012-2013 season.
As the network's top-rated show, "The Vampire Diaries" now heads into its fourth season; "Supernatural" will mark its eight season.
Kevin Williamson ("Scream") and Julie Plec ("Kyle XY," "Wasteland") executive produce "The Vampire Diaries," which is based on the best-selling series of books by L. J. Smith that chronicle two vampire brothers obsessed with the same beautiful girl and battling to control the fate of an entire town.
The series airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET and is also executive produced by Leslie Morgenstein ("Gossip Girl," "Private") and Bob Levy ("Gossip Girl," "Privileged"). It stars Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Steven R. McQueen, Candice Accola, Zach Roerig, Katerina Graham.
"Supernatural," which airs Fridays at 9 p.m. ET, is executive produced by McG (“Charlie’s Angels,” “The O.C.”), Robert Singer (“Midnight Caller”), Jeremy Carver (“Being Human”) and Phil Sgriccia.
Centering on two brothers, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles), the series spotlights their high-stakes struggle to hunt and destroy monsters and the forces of darkness.
