'The Devil Inside' Creative Team Tackles New Film
William Brent Bell, Matthew Peterman to use a similar filmmaking style
Following impressive box office returns for "The Devil Inside," the film's creative team has landed a new untitled horror project, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Sierra/Affinity and Incentive Filmed Entertainment are financing the film, which will be directed by William Brent Bell from a screenplay he and Matthew Peterman penned.
No details on the untitled project's plot are available, although the film is expected to be lensed in the found-footage format. The project will start production in Romania in April.
Bell and Peterman's current film, "The Devil Inside," opened Jan. 6, earning a remarkable weekend box office take of $34.5 million despite its meager $1 million budget.
"From day one, we have been huge fans of this filmmaking team and the way they have crafted a unique movie-going experience with 'The Devil Inside,'" said Nick Meyer, CEO of Sierra/Affinity. "These are filmmakers we know and trust, and they bring an original voice and style to our next project that will once again introduce audiences to a new expectation of what one can define as a genre film."
Steven Schneider ("Paranormal Activity," "Insidious"), Morris Paulson ("The Devil Inside") and Peterman will produce the untitled project, with the production company Pototype overseeing.
Producers will pitch it to buyers next month at the European Film Market in Berlin.
