'Smallville' Showrunners Join 'The Secret Circle'
Kelly Souders, Brian Peterson take consulting roles on The CW's witch series
"Smallville" showrunners Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson are joining "The Secret Circle" as consulting producers, according to Deadline.
"The Secret Circle," which is based on author L.J. Smith's novel, premiered Sept. 15 and pulled in 3 million viewers.
Kevin Williamson ("Scream"), co-creator and executive producer of "The Vampire Diaries," is executive producing the show along with Andrew Miller, Elizabeth Craft, Sarah Fain, Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo.
The series centers on a teenage girl who moves to a new town and who learns that she is a witch. Becoming the focus of a secret coven, she soon finds herself the key to unlocking an ancient battle between good and evil.
In addition to spearheading "The Vampire Diaries" with Julie Plec, Williamson penned "Scream 4," which hit theaters in April. He is also writing the script for "The Bedroom Window," based on the novel "The Witnesses" by Anne Holden.
