'The Vampire Diaries' Season 3 Teased
Executive producer touches on the mystery behind Jeremy's resurrection
"The Vampire Diaries" executive producer Julie Plec recently hinted at the ramifications surrounding the resurrection of Jeremy (Steve R. McQueen) during the Season 2 finale.
After suffering a fatal gunshot wound, Jeremy was brought back to life by his witch girlfriend Bonnie (Katerina Graham); however, the powerful magics involved came with a price -- his dead ex girlfriends Vicki (Kayla Ewell) and Anna (Malese Jow) materialized, apparently ready to dish out a spooky haunting.
“When we come back to see him at the beginning of the season, we’ll see that he still hasn’t had any success figuring out what it is that they want, or understanding even what it is that they are,” Plec said in an interview with EW. “We’ll see that maybe he’s been keeping this a secret, that nobody else is aware of what he’s been going through, and that his behavior has changed quite a bit and people are starting to wonder if he’s perhaps getting back into some old bad habits. When in reality, he’s just trying to figure out why the hell he’s being haunted by his dead girlfriends.”
Executive producer Kevin Williamson ("Scream") promises that a key episode in October will serve as “the climax of the haunting of Jeremy.”
“Are they there for good? Are they there for bad? It will once again be another twisty story,” he said. “It’s gonna take a lot of turns and also involves some unlikely participants.”
Could that mean more ghosts will haunt Mystic Falls?
“That’s the most beautiful part of our show,” Plec said, “just because somebody faces their demise in our world, doesn’t mean we’ll never get to see them again.”
Based on the best-selling series of books by L. J. Smith, the series chronicles two vampire brothers obsessed with the same beautiful girl and battling to control the fate of an entire town.
"The Vampire Diaries" is also executive produced by Leslie Morgenstein ("Gossip Girl," "Private") and Bob Levy ("Gossip Girl," "Privileged"). It stars Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Candice Accola, Zach Roerig.
