Zombies Find Life With 'World War Z'
Mireille Enos may join Paramount Pictures' adaption of Max Brooks' apocalyptic tale
Paramount Pictures is once again moving forward with its adaption of Max Brooks' novel "World War Z" and is in talks to bring "The Killing" actress Mireille Enos aboard, according to Deadline.
Set to start production this summer with Marc Forster ("Quantum of Solace") at the helm, "World War Z" is a post-apocalyptic tale centered on a United Nations' investigation 10 years after a devastating zombie outbreak.
Matthew Michael Carnahan ("The Kingdom," "State of Play") and J. Michael Straczynski ("Thor," Babylon 5") penned the screenplay.
Enos, whose credits include HBO's "Big Love," would be taking on her first major-studio role starring as Karin Lane, the wife of Gerard, a United Nations investigator played by Brad Pitt.
Filming is expected to take place in London, Malta and several other other international locales.
Paramount had initially shied away from the project's $125 million budget, but later brought aboard several risk-sharing partners, including David Ellison's Skydance Productions.
Brooks is the son of director Mel Brooks.
