NBC To Explore Fairy Tales With 'Grimm'
Network orders a pilot from 'Angel' writers David Greenwalt, Jim Kouf
NBC has ordered a pilot inspired by Grimm’s Fairy Tales, according to EW.
Titled "Grimm," the series will fuse elements of fantasy to a crime drama format, chronicling a dark but fantastical world in which fairy tale characters exist.
"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel" writer David Greenwalt will co-write and executive produce the show alongside Jim Kouf, who also penned episodes of "Angel."
Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner ("Will & Grace") will also serve as executive producers.
In addition to "Grimm," NBC has ordered the pilot "Precinct 17" -- sharing similar concepts with Greenwalt and Kouf's tale -- from "Battlestar Galactica" executive producer Ronald D. Moore. The story is set in a world where science takes a back seat to magic and the supernatural.
Grimm’s Fairy Tales is a collection of German origin fairy tales published by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm in 1812.
