Casting Continues For 'Dibbuk Box'
An antique wooden box harbors a dark presence in Danish director Ole Bornedal's new film
Cast signings for Lionsgate's horror thriller "Dibbuk Box" are accelerating.
Kyra Sedgwick ("The Closer"), Natasha Calis ("Held Hostage"), Jeffrey Dean Morgan ("Watchmen," "Jonah Hex") and Madison Davenport ("Parasomnia") have signed aboard the Ghost House Pictures project.
Helmed by Danish director Ole Bornedal ("The Substitute"), "Dibbuk Box" is inspired by true events and was penned by Juliet Snowden and Stiles White ("Boogeyman," "Knowing").
The film follows a divorced father whose youngest daughter is fascinated by a mysterious wooden box, which seems to incite her increasingly erratic behavior. The father soon learns the antique box was built to contain a dibbuk -- an entity that possesses and ultimately destroys its human host.
Sam Raimi ("Evil Dead") and Rob Tapert are producing. John Sacchi is overseeing production of the film for Lionsgate, with Peter Schlessel, Stan Wertlieb and Nathan Kahane serving as executive producers. Stephen Susco, J.R. Young, Nicole Brown and Kelli Konop are co-producing.
"Dibbuk Box" hits theaters Oct. 28.
