Nick Stahl Signs Aboard 'Locke & Key'
Joe Hill's graphic novel is being adapted into a Fox series
"Carnivàle" actor Nick Stahl is joining the cast of Fox's supernatural pilot "Locke & Key," according to Deadline.
Adapting Joe Hill's IDW graphic novel, the series will launch with a pilot penned by Josh Friedman ("Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles") and produced by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman ("Fringe," "Star Trek"), along with Dreamworks TV.
Originally targeted for a summer release, the series is now being considered for a fall debut.
"Originally, we had it on a summer track ... They just simply couldn't make the dates," said Kevin Reilly, Fox entertainment president. "We were going to rush it creatively. So we've got it in the hopper now for May, and we'll just figure out where it should be programmed best."
"Locke & Key" follows Nina Locke (Miranda Otto) and her three children who return to an old family home in Massachusetts, only to be hounded by an evil entity.
Stahl will play art teacher Duncan Locke, who lives nearby and oddly has few memories of his time growing up in the home.
The comic series kicked off in 2008 and has already earned several Eisner nominations.
Hill is the son of author Stephen King.
