'Locke And Key' Pilot Moves Forward
Fox will shoot an adaption of Joe Hill's Eisner nominated comic
Fox has given the go-ahead to shoot a pilot for an adaptation of the IDW graphic novel Locke and Key, according to Variety.
The pilot is being written by Josh Friedman (Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles) and produced by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman (Fringe, "Star Trek"), along with Dreamworks TV.
The original comic series, which has already received several Eisner nominations, is conceived and written by Joe Hill, son of author Stephen King.
The series began in 2008, and has had three full story arcs so far, with at least two more planned.
Locke and Key, according to the IDW website, tells of Keyhouse, an unlikely New England mansion, with fantastic doors that transform all who dare to walk through them. ... And home to a hate-filled and relentless creature that will not rest until it forces open the most terrible door of them all.
Fox has also given a tentative commitment to Terra Nova, another genre series in which Dreamworks TV will have a hand.
