Syfy Remake Of Being Human Ramps Up
Adaptation of the acclaimed UK series has begun production in Montreal
A vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost rent a house together. It sounds like the beginning of a joke, but its actually the premise of the British TV series Being Human, which is now being remade by the Syfy network.
The new series, described by the network as a re-imagining of the original, began production this week in Montreal, Canada.
Set in Boston, the show stars Sam Witwer (Smallville) as Aiden the vampire, Meaghan Rath (The Assistants) as Sally the ghost and Sam Huntington (Superman Returns) as Josh the werewolf. Mark Pellegrino (Supernatural) plays Aidens vampire mentor Bishop.
The series follows the three 20-something supernatural roommates as they help each other cope with their double lives. The UK version was originally described as a hybrid comedy/drama, but leaned more heavily toward drama, especially by the end of the first season.
Thirteen one-hour episodes will be filmed, but no premiere date has been announced.
