"'Supernatural' won’t just change how you feel about television; it will change how you feel about yourself," executive producer and creator Kripke jokes with The TV Addict.
Actually, he explains that it is a "bad ass horror show" with all the creepiness of "The X-Files" and the humor of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." And Season 3 is the season he’s been waiting for.
Now that the Gates of Hell have opened and unleashed an army of demons on the American countryside, the Winchester brothers will have to contend with such evils as creepy evil children, unlucky rabbit’s feet, witches, bloody fairy tales and even evil santas.
Meanwhile, Dean tries to come to terms with his imminent death and subsequent damnation while Sam tries desperately to save his brother.
Among the evils Kripke has had to contend with are the constant threat of cancellation and critical fans judging elements of the new season before it even airs. The problem arises when fans base their opinions on spoilers, rather than waiting to watch the finished product. "Therefore, they’re much less likely to enjoy the actual storyline, because they’re not approaching it with an open mind, they’re already biased. I have to admit, I find that frustrating," he said.
Currently, the show is planned out until the middle of Season 4, leaving some wiggle room for anything that might develop in the meantime.
