'Scream 4' Will Lens This Spring

Dimension Films launches a new trilogy in 2011 with Wes Craven at the helm

"Scream 4" will shoot this spring with Wes Craven returning to direct.

Kevin Williamson ("The Vampire Diaries") is scripting a new trilogy, which continues the slasher franchise more than a decade after the release of "Scream 3."

Dimension Films has assembled Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courteney Cox Arquette to reprise their roles.

"'Scream' has been such an integral part of Dimension's history, and I look forward to continuing the franchise," said Bob Weinstein, Dimension Films chairman.

Dimension Films' 2011 slate aims to continue its most successful franchises. The original "Scream" earned more than $170 million in 1996; "Scream 2" grossed more than $170 million in 1997 and "Scream 3" took in $160 million in 2000.

"Scream 4" is set to hit theaters April 15, 2011.
