Felicia Day To Slay Werewolves
Descendant of Little Red Riding Hood seeks payback in Syfy's 'Red'
Felicia Day will star as a werewolf-hunting descendant of Little Red Riding Hood in "Red," a Syfy Saturday Original Movie set to premiere in 2011.
Widely known for her work in web video, Day co-starred in Joss Whedon's popular "Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog" and "The Guild," which she created and writes. "The Guild" won the YouTube, Yahoo and SXSW Best Web Series Awards for 2008. Day also appeared in the final season of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," playing the slayer Vi.
In "Red," Day plays a young woman who brings her fiancé home to meet the family and learn about their business -- hunting werewolves. But when he is bitten by a werewolf, she attempts to save him despite her family's opposition.
"Red" also stars Kavan Smith ("Stargate: Atlantis") and Stephen McHattie ("Watchmen"), and is produced by Angela Mancuso and Vesuvius Productions in association with Chesler Perlmutter Productions.
Syfy's saturday movies feature re-imaginings of classic fairy tales, legends and pop culture characters. Upcoming tales include new spins on "Beauty and the Beasts," "Aladdin," "Sinbad the Sailor" and "Hansel & Gretel."
