'Lost Boys' Star Corey Haim Dies

Police believe it was an accidental overdose

The rollercoaster career -- and life -- of actor Corey Haim has come to a tragic end.

Police in Los Angeles said the 38-year-old actor died early Wednesday from a possible accidental drug overdose, according to CNN.

Haim was taken to Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, Calif., where he was pronounced dead at about 3:30 a.m. local time. Both Haim and his regular co-star Corey Feldman have a documented history of drug abuse, but Feldman says he's been clean for several years, and refused to talk to Haim until he was clean, according to reports.

Haim starred in nearly 50 productions through his career, beginning with "First Born" in 1984 and starring in "The Edison Twins" television series in the mid-1980s. He played Sam in the 1987 film "The Lost Boys," a vampire flick that helped revive the genre a bit with an updated look at how vampires could be treated. He also starred in the low-budget genre flick "Prayer of the Rollerboys."

Haim was set to have a cameo appearance in a direct-to-DVD sequel of "Lost Boys," but arrived on set clearly under the influence, according to reports.
