UPDATED! 'The Vampire Diaries' Preview

Clips, photos promote the upcoming episode from The CW's hit series

The CW Network has released several clips and photos promoting Thursday's new episode of "The Vampire Diaries."

In "Unpleasantville," Stefan and Damon try to figure out the identity of the new vampire in town, and accompany Elena to a school dance with a 1950s’ theme.

Based on the best-selling series of books by L. J. Smith, the hit show has become The CW’s most-watched and highest-rated series among adults 18-34 this season.

"The Vampire Diaries" chronicles two vampire brothers obsessed with the same beautiful girl, and battling to control the fate of an entire town.

Airing Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET, the series is executive produced by Kevin Williamson (“Scream,” “Dawson’s Creek”), Julie Plec (“Kyle XY,” “Wasteland”), Leslie Morgenstein (“Gossip Girl,” “Private”) and Bob Levy (“Gossip Girl,” “Privileged”).
