Romero Working On Straight-To-DVD Stories

George A. Romero, once considered king of the horror genre, made a triumphant return in 2004 when he re-worked his own classic “Dawn of the Dead” for a new generation. And now he shows no signs of stopping by continuing to turn zombies into things to be feared again on the big and small screens.

George A. Romero, once considered king of the horror genre, made a triumphant return in 2004 when he re-worked his own classic “Dawn of the Dead” for a new generation. And now he shows no signs of stopping by continuing to turn zombies into things to be feared again on the big and small screens. Just now, he’s finishing off “Diary of the Dead” and prepping for “Diary of the Dead 2” which means there are definitely two classics in the making destined for movie theatres. At the same time however, Romero is also working on a straight-to-DVD release featuring three horrific stories. The “Dead Time Stories” anthology is written and directed by Jeff Monahan, Romero’s partner on the project. The first of these adventures is "On Sabbath Hill," a ghost story about a professor whose wandering eye causes a female student to kill herself, he soon discovers her ghost is still attending his classes. Story number two (“Dust”) includes  a slight science-fiction influence, when a security guard from a secret lab steals some Mars dust to heal his dying wife of cancer. The good news is she makes a miraculous recovery, the bad is that there are just a few unexpected Martian side effects.
