Haley Shoots More 'Elm Street' Footage
New material includes more dream sequences, tweaks to Freddy's voice
"A Nightmare on Elm Street" star Jackie Earle Haley spent part of the holidays shooting additional footage for the remake of Wes Craven's classic 1984 horror film.
"We did do some re-shoots over the Christmas holidays, and I feel really good about that," Haley said in an interview this week while promoting his upcoming Fox TV show "Human Target."
Although re-shoots are a common part of filmmaking, they can indicate problems. But Haley is adamant that the remake is on firm ground. The new footage includes new dream sequence material, with Haley returning to the makeup chair.
"Just some re-shoots and tweaks that I think are probably customary for pretty much every movie that gets made," Haley said.
Another aspect of the film Haley and the creative team are still tweaking is Freddy's voice.
"There's still more [additional dialogue recording] stuff to do, so it's an ongoing process, I think, until it comes out," he explained.
"A Nightmare on Elm Street," directed by Samuel Bayer, hits theaters April 30, and stars Kyle Gallner (Jennifer's Body"), Rooney Mara (Urband Legends: Bloody Mary"), Thomas Dekker ("Laid To Rest", "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles"), Kellan Lutz ("The Twilight Saga: New Moon), Katie Cassidy ("Taken," "Supernatural") and Clancy Brown ("Carnivà le," "The Burrowers").
