Danielle Harris Takes On 'Hatchet 2'

'Halloween' scream queen cast as the new 'Marybeth'

"Halloween" scream queen Danielle Harris has joined the cast of Adam Green's "Hatchet 2."

Harris, who recently stared in "Halloween 2" and "Fear Clinic," will play Marybeth, previously portrayed by Tamara Feldman.

"Everything that this movie is trying to be is to get better ... case in point is that it brings fans what they want and is going to make 'Hatchet 2' even better," Green said in an interview with Bloody Disgusting. "[There's] a new[ly designed] Victor Crowley and the whole cast is fucking amazing! To have another icon as a leading role is enormous."

"Hatchet 2" will follow Marybeth as she slips from the clutches of Victor Crowley, and then ruthlessly seeks to end his reign of terror.

"The first 'Hatchet' film was my love letter to the shit I watched growing up," Green said in an interview with Dread Central. "The sequel is my love letter to the fans who supported 'Hatchet' and made it what it was.

"Bringing Danielle in is a perfect example of us trying to do everything bigger and better than we did in the first film. She's is not only a bona fide star and terrific actress, but she's also a really good friend of lots of us here in the 'Hatchet' family. Danielle has played the scream queen/damsel-in-distress role before. With this movie we're gonna see her be out for blood and really fuck people up. We couldn't be more excited to have her aboard and to start bringing on the gore."
